"Female artists use their own environment as art seem very ideal to me as well. Personally, the use of everyday life is more meaningful in seeing the very purpose of my own life as well. It serves as a platform for self-reflection as well as the opportunity to defamiliarise the boring everyday life and turns them into purposeful self realisation. Martha Rosler's semiotics of the kitchen (1975), Rosler "shows and tells" the ingredients of the housewife's day, from A to Z, proceeds to demonstrate, but with gestures that depart from the normal uses of the tool. Rosler's slashing gesture as she forms the letters of the alphabet in the air with a knife and fork, is a rebel gesture, revealing the suburban kitchen to be a war zone where routine food preparation masks the violent frustrations felt by women at being confined by the home. In an ironic grammatology of sound and gesture, the woman and her implements enter and transgress the familiar system of everyday kitchen meanings. Kitchen is also one of my favourite themes for exploration about female beings, not myself, but about my mother being a housewife. Through the frustrations seen portraying in the real life kitchen, housewife is the number one occupation I would love to avoid as well. ^^;; The trap-routine-waiting-boring-suicidal feeling within the kitchen is definitely unbearable for me. The sense of identity seems to flow away into the sink, into the drain after a long time spent in the kitchen. I did an installation piece last semester. (^^;;) (http://oot.dreamhosters.com/mother.html)-temporany domain. I focus more on the water flow within the kitchen as a semiotics instead of the utensils. I remembered I was quite confused with my purpose of this artwork as well. Couldn't explain why I did so. But after this presentation, I began to realise the theme I was trying to explore."

"Perhaps, Art is the purest expression of paidia.
It begins with exploration, the examination of everything that the space contains.
The search for Art is to remember how to become a child again,
that anarchic state of spontaneous play
what a freedom!

it's not a

okie. what an attempt to write something but words just didn't come out. =.=;;;

Huang Wengao: New media arts are based on but not predetermined by technology. While every tool brings with it an ideology and shapes its users, it also merges with the vast sea of human consciousness and history resonating with the old. This mixed consciousness, in turn, shapes the tool, bringing to it a more complex spiritual dimension.

Her essence lingers in her kitchen
She follows along the flow within the pipes

Yet Her essence still lingers in her kitchen

Finally, the game project ends with a bang... yea.. Good job people... now final-finally, concentrate on my own work.

There's something that keep bothering me ever since Lonce Wyse gave a lecture on interactivity. I'm still figuring how to solidify my confusion about interactivity and put them in words.

And I recalled, how much I used to question the use of sensors and camera tracking as parts of an Artwork. To me, the current use of these equipments seem to be a technical aspect of the Artwork but feel disconnected from the Artwork. Nevertheless, I believed that these equipments will convince me and willing to be part of my artwork in the future. (perhaps next sem.) Just like hundred years ago, photography was considered as a technical thing, not an art form.

Oh well~ that's why I chose to avoid any electronic devices for this INT project! =D lemmi figure out what is art in the first place.

So What is Art? or should i say what is Art to me..?

I came across this book in adm library...

Art? No Thing!: Analogies Between Art, Science & Philosophy (Paperback)by Fre Ligen (Author), Megan Criag (Author)

gonna read it after exams.. plus a ton of books at home, waiting for me.

no much photos taken yet. was busy solving some stupid problem with the drill. haha..
I have to wait for the drills, sand machine and the sun to come the next day in order to continue working.

Anyway, coated the "cupboard" with two layers of paints.
(so amazing that I have all sort of colours - purple, orange, green, yellow)except brown. AND they smelled like shit. must be there for 1.5 years...EWw.. So I dump everything together to get brown paints. added some pretty old black acrylic paints to get the right brown. and ta-ta...
I just need to cut cost.)

Got my fishish tanks.
(oh damn. how am i going to use them after this project? make a lightbox glass table? XD.. better turn it to something real good or else my dad will $@#%!$!%$!)
